Dear Fellow Industry Professional,
I would like to take a moment of your time to tell you about us and how we might be of service to you.
Valley Builders Exchange, Inc., a Non-Profit Corporation established in 1947, is set up to provide services to our membership. Our association is comprised of dues paying members in all fields of construction. Membership in the Exchange provides you with various services and information that may be difficult to obtain on an individual basis.
Among the services we offer is a weekly bulletin containing information on projects out for bid in several counties. This information includes bid date and time, project location, issuing office, prime bidders requesting sub-bids and bid results of previously advertised projects. Also included in the bulletin is a Safety Tips page with a different topic each week to help with your tailgate safety meetings, legal notices such as Mechanics Liens filed and released, Notices of Completion and building permits for the City of Modesto and Stanislaus County. The projects listed in the weekly bulletin are on file in our plan room for our members' use. These are available to be used here during the day and they may also be checked out for overnight or weekend use. Most of the above information is also available on our website. We also have an exciting new service, Plans Online, where you can access the actual project documents online.
We provide the opportunity to participate in a very successful and popular group insurance program.
Our workers compensation insurance program that we sponsor as part of a statewide contractors association allows qualifying members to be placed in our group if they meet the underwriting criteria.
Being placed in Group 44 Chapter 12 allows companies to receive a 6% discount on their premium.
Other benefits of Exchange membership include fax and blue print copy services, seminars, membership lists, numerous forms used in the construction industry, advertising privileges, socials, amusement parks discount cards, golf tournament and a scholarship program. A nominal fee required for some of these services.
To join, just complete and return the application form and a check for $300.00. The entrance fee is
$100.00 and first and last quarters dues are $100.00 per quarter, payable in advance . Thereafter we
will bill for dues on a quarterly basis and will continue to do so until we hear otherwise from you.
Upon receipt of your check and application form, you will be put on our mailing list and you may begin to use our services on a temporary basis until Board approval. If for any reason the Board of Directors denies your application, your money will be fully refunded. If your application is accepted, your company name will appear in the bulletin welcoming you and introducing you to the membership. Later, you will receive a packet which will include your membership certificate.
